Freak Nutrition: The Story So Far

A year into building our food tracker, the challenge is finding its audience—and balancing detailed nutrition logging with the needs of everyday users.

Without Freak Nutrition, the Freak Bundle wouldn’t be complete. It’s been only a year since its launch, and the app is still fresh, but we’re really struggling with it.

From the technological standpoint the app's foundation is an example of absolute robustness. It demonstrates top notch performance, and we can upgrade and build any features on top of the existing functionality with speed and ease.

The problem is different: market positioning and customer acquisition. The truth is that dieting is quite a sensitive topic, and there are very little people who track their food as meticulously as Freak Nutrition suggests.

It’s a great tool for athletes and those who are serious about training, but feels too hard for people who just want to stay healthy and keep an eye on the calories from time to time (the majority).

But we have thoughts, and the solution is coming.
